Sketch of a Big Eye Gothic Mermaid, June 5, Art Sketches Daily...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She is wary of being spotted and her hair is swirling.  I think she is most likely a mermaid, although she could also be a fairy angel or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in June.  This is day 5.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

I am also participating in Sunday Sketches.  To view more Sunday Sketches, please visit:

I am so impressed with all of your art. You seem to just create without any obstacles. The only place I have been able to find the shelf canvases are at Michael's Craft store. I have a friend who owns a very large art supply store in CA and he can't get them either. I should have emailed you on this. Sorry. Have a great Sunday.

another very nice maiden sketch :) are you going to try to sketch everyday for awhile or until you run out of ideas?

You may call this a rough sketch, but I think it is beautiful and could well stand alone. Hope you make your goal of one a day for the month. It would be wonderful if you could. Thank you for your visit to my blog and your kind words. I hope you have s sketch filled week of happiness. genie

Thank you Nicole. I definitely have obstacles, but next to what some people experience, they are not as great. I love to create so much. You are such an inspiration to me in how you continue to create despite obstacles. Thanks for the information on the shelf canvases.

Thanks Jennifer. I want to sketch daily, but I don't want to commit to 365 at once, so I go month by month...

Thanks so much Christine, I love to draw and sketch hair.

Thank you most kindly genie, I am hoping to improve my line art as I go.

Thanks very much Optimistic Existentialist, eyes are one of my favorite things to draw and paint.

Thank you very much Simona, I am enjoying sketching them and I'm glad you like them!
