In Progress Sunflower Painting 2 and the book Bloggers Boot Camp

Here is the second image of my sunflower painting Sunlight Sunbright.

This week I read Bloggers Boot Camp by Charlie White and John Biggs: learning how to build, write, and run a successful blog. If you are looking into going into blogging as a professional, journalistic endeavor, this could be a very helpful and useful book. If you are looking to improve your blog in general, while it has some helpful nuggets, this book might be best checked out from a library.

My biggest take away from the book is their suggestion for consistent blogging Monday through Friday. I don't expect I'll manage that weekly, sometimes I'm too engrossed in my paintings to come up for air much, but I will make the attempt to blog more consistently. Some of the time that is... Other times I may fall off the face of the earth in a haze of art creation, only to return when the fires burn less hot.

  1. tnx for a review! :) I love that about blogosphere ... that you can get honest opinions about anything. Although I don't like most of the sponsored reviews that are praising products too much - how can you consider them seriously then?

  2. Hi Lisa! I loved seeing your sunflower in progress, I'm looking forward to seeing the next one! It's tricky to post M-F, I try to post 1-2 x per week. Sometimes it's tricky trying to get it all rolling, I'm sure it would help to have a routine to keep it all consistent.

    Anyhoo...have a super, great weekend!

  3. Kajira, thanks and you're welcome :). I agree about the sponsored reviews, it can be hard to get an honest feel for a product from something that's more of an advertisement then a review...

  4. Hi Jo-Ann, thank you so much! I'm almost 100% certain that there's no way I'll consistently post M-F... I think 1-2 times is much more reasonable. You're definitely right that it's tricky to get it rolling and also that a steady routine might help, but that's definitely out of my range of expertise... Anyway, thanks again and I hope you have a terrific weekend as well!

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here. If you're logged in to Google or OpenID, you should still be able to post by clicking enter without filling in the word verification. I'm sorry about the glitch...
