"Still Life with Fruit and Vegetables" by Frans Snyders & Cornelis de Vos

I recently attended a still life drawing class at the Norton Simon Museum of Art and this is one of the paintings the instructor referred to.  If you'd like to see more about the class, that is here.  I thought this painting was so magnificent that I wanted to share it and some detail views of it here.  It is a huge painting, it measures 68-1/4 inches by 101 inches (212 cm x 308 cm), which is more than 5 feet tall and more than 8 feet wide.  The details are exquisite.  The fruits and vegetables are layered in a heirarchy, with the most valuable at the top and the less valuable at the bottom as ranked in the time period painted.  The piece was a collaboration between Frans Snyders and Cornelis de Vos.  Frans Snyders was a master of  Flemish Baroque still life and painted the still life elements.  His brother-in-law, a portrait painter, painted the two figures.  It was painted c. 1625-1635 and is an oil on canvas.
