My Photograph of a Tulip Flower at Descanso Gardens + April Sketches Art, Day 6, Angel Fairy...

I took this photograph of a tulip at Descanso Gardens this year, although the last time I visited there weren't very many tulips left.  They are such beautiful flowers.  This one is two toned with white and the color of a burgundy wine and its core is peeking through.  It has been a long time since I've painted a tulip, I think I'd like to add some to my painting wish list...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at www.lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She has feathers that tuft from one eye, perhaps she is a protector of birds...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April.  This is day 6.

This is a rough sketch.

  3. Gorgeous sketch Lisa and that tulip is so beautiful. It looks like Mother Nature has been painting it already! I've got lots of tulip bulbs in my garden, but none have opened yet. I do hope that I've got some as pretty as this one.
