In this original acrylic work in progress WIP big eye maiden painting I've started on her makeup. Sometimes I flit from painting to painting, sometimes I am more focused on one than any other, she is my primary focus painting at the moment... She is a Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead sugar skull inspired painting. The butterflies are monarch butterflies and they surround her. I still have quite a ways to go with her makeup before I start on adding in some more shading... This fairy angel is an 11"x14" acrylic painting.
This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit! You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden. She has a determined expression and one ear is peeking out. I think she is most likely an elf fairy angel, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess. I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in September. This is day 2. She is also face 2 for the 29 faces challenge in September.
This is a rough sketch.
Lovely work again - the eyes in your WIP are fantastic, very impressive. Have a nice weekend, hugs, Valerie
