WIP Dia de los Muertos Day of the Dead Art Original Painting Work in Progress + September Sketches, Sketch 5, Angel...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP big eye maiden painting I'm very close to being done with her makeup.  I still need to outline...  She is a Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead sugar skull inspired painting.  The butterflies are monarch butterflies and they surround her.  After the makeup comes the shading...  This fairy angel is an 11"x14" acrylic painting.

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  Much like yesterdays, her hair is piled wildly on her hair and accented with flowers.  I love this look!  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in September.  This is day 5.   She is also face 5 for the 29 faces challenge in September.

This is a rough sketch.

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here. If you're logged in to Google or OpenID, you should still be able to post by clicking enter without filling in the word verification. I'm sorry about the glitch...
