WIP Monarch Butterfly Art Original Painting Work in Progress + September Sketches, Sketch 23 & Sketch 24, Angel & Fairy...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a monarch butterfly, I've painted the colors and the darks, all that remains to be painted are the white accents.  I should hopefully be done by Tuesday, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to share it then, I'm having technical difficulties uploading to my website.  My Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead painting will have numerous butterflies and I've decided to paint one solo.  I love monarch butterflies!

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a look of gentle intensity and her hair was a lot of fun to sketch...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in September.  This was for day 23, I didn't get a chance to share her yesterday.   She is also face 23 for the 29 faces challenge in September.

This is a rough sketch.

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here.
