Inktober, October 1, Sketches Daily, Seashell Sketch Art...
Here is a sketch of some seashells. They are in a small sketchbook that measures 3.5x5.5 inches. I am attempting to ink my sketches, my hands tend to shake a bit when I ink, so while this may be good practice, I'm not sure how well it will go. Also the paper in the book is thin and some of the color from one shell transfered to the next page, I'll probably sketch a couple more shells tomorrow and put a paper behind the page when I ink... I'm unsure if I'll paint them or not, but I did enjoy sketching them.
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in October. This is day 1. I am also attempting Inktober. The goal is to share 31 inked sketches in the month of October. To learn more about the challenge, please click here.
This is a rough sketch that has been inked. You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.
It looks like Alex and I will be attending the tail end of the closing party for the Coaster Show tomorrow. Additional details for the show are here.

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here. If you're logged in to Google or OpenID, you should still be able to post by clicking enter without filling in the word verification. I'm sorry about the glitch...
Good for you for starting on a new challenge, your shells are great. Have fun at the art show, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteVery pretty although frustrating about the thinness of the paper.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. You overcame to pursue your art.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Valerie-Jael, Christine, and Martin. Unfortunately I won't be able to continue with the challenge this year, I just have a bit too much on my plate. I'm going to continue sketching, but not inking this time around...
ReplyDeleteyou shells look nice :) I find my hand shakes when inking when I hold the pen/tool too tightly, but that might just be me lol
