WIP Lisianthus Flowers Art Original Painting Work in Progress + November Sketches, Sketch 23, Barred Owl...

In this original 4"x3.5" work in progress WIP acrylic painting of lisianthus flowers, I've laid in the flower petals.  I still have to paint the flowers' cores as well as some touch ups, but I feel close enough to completion to share that this painting will be included in the December Miniatures and Small Works Exhibit at the Whittier Art Gallery.  It's a tiny little painting on vellum paper that will go in a tiny little frame...  Once I've finished and have framed it, I'll try to post an image this Sunday before I deliver it.

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.  I usually post a photograph on Wednesdays, but I may be changing that to Mondays.  I'm not sure though, I just very much wanted to share this one today...

=====================================================

Here is a sketch of a barred owl.  I love owls, they seem so very wise!  It is in my tiny sketchbook that measures 3.5x5.5 inches.   I'm unsure if I'll paint him or not, but I did enjoy sketching him.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in November.  This is day 23.

This is a sketch in colored pencils.  I'm not really a colored pencil artist but I am exploring something new for the sketchbook.  I will be juxtaposing my usual rough sketches with the colored pencil sketches at varying intervals.  I tend to sketch very lightly, so these and my usual pencil ones are darkened a bit in photoshop for online viewing.

  9. __ I'd love to see those completed flowers! I'm learning; it may be your love of -wise owls- that is gladly seen, and not overlooked in your sketches. Nifty!

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here. If you're logged in to Google or OpenID, you should still be able to post by clicking enter without filling in the word verification. I'm sorry about the glitch...
