My Photograph of White Japanese Chrysanthemums at Descanso Gardens + January Sketches Art, Day 4 Sketch, Big Eye Fairy Angel...

I took this photograph of these white flowers at Descanso Gardens.  I believe they are a Japanese chrysanthemum variation, I thought they were gorgeous.  I think they would make a lovely hat for one of my maidens, but I think the details of these beautiful flowers would drive me a bit nuts...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  It was my warm up sketch before I worked on an improved sketch of the rooster; it's not quite there yet, but it is getting closer...  The maiden is looking upwards and has some flowers in her hair.  I think she is most likely a fairy angel, although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in January.  This is day 4.

This is a rough sketch.

  1. Your big eyed maiden looking up is great. I love those chrysanthemums, too. I had some like that last year and slugs chewed them up! Hugs, Valerie
