Sketch of a Seahorse Hippocampus, January 19, Art Sketches Daily...

Here is a sketch of a seahorse.  He is swimming very determinately; seahorses aren't very strong swimmers, but this one is doing just fine.  I'm considering adding him to a mermaid painting that I am reworking...

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in January.  This is day 19.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

  5. Awesome sketch! They're very cute but you're right, not very strong swimmers. One was floating with the current one the Intracoastal one day, we threw a mangrove leaf in the water which he quickly grabbed with his curly tail! I later read that they can die of exhaustion if they are unable to grab hold of something with their tail...curious little creatures! :)
