Art Sketch of a Big Eye Angel Fairy, February 18 Daily Sketches...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a wary and cautious gaze and her hair is piled high upon her head.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in February.  This is day 18.  We had a power outage yesterday that lasted from 4:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., I hadn't decided if I was going to sketch by candle light or not; I was very glad when the power came back on!

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.  I am also participating in the February 29 Faces Challenge, this is face 18.

  1. Sorry about the power outage, I can just imagine you sketching by candle light, sounds quite romntic but not really practical. Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Valerie

  2. glad the power came back, sketching in candle light can strain your eyes :/ no idea how people use to read by candle light

  6. Thanks so very much Valerie-Jael, Christine, Jennifer, Martin, Susi, and Jan! Fortunately I didn't have to sketch by candlelight, I've done so, but in general I prefer better lighting...
