My Photograph of a Tulip Flower at Descanso Gardens + February Sketches Art, Day 15 Sketch, Goddess, 29 Faces...

The tulips are coming, the tulips are coming!  I took this photograph of this tulip during a past year at Descanso Gardens.  They are not yet in bloom there, but they are coming.  Every year they have a slightly different mix of what tulips they plant, some are the same and some are different, but it's a joy to see them.  This is one of my favorite tulips that they've had...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

==============================================

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  I think she comes from the land of the ice and snow.  I think she is most likely a goddess, although she could also be a fairy angel or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in February.  This is day 15.

This is a rough sketch.  I am also participating in the February 29 Faces Challenge, this is face 15.

  3. Beautiful flower.
    The maiden is a riddle. Is she happy or sad?

  5. Thanks very much Christine, Jennifer, Martin, and Valerie-Jael. Martin, I do agree, it is a bit hard to read the expression of this maiden, she's playing it close to the chest... I hope you do get to plant your tulips Jennifer!
