I took this photograph of these bi-color tulips at Descanso Gardens during my most recent visit. There were so many beautiful tulips, they are such a joyful flower. I'm not sure how long they'll be in bloom though... I hope that you will enjoy this photo!
I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.
==========================================
Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden. With her sweet bonnet, she is very loosely inspired by Jean-Etienne Liotard's painting Madame de'Epinay... I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid. I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in March. This is day 29.
This is a rough sketch.
Gorgeous maiden and wonderful tulips. I can never see enough of them, and those bicolour ones are really splendid. Hugs, Valerie
