This week my featured painting is "La Sonrisa," a Day of the Dead sugar skull katrina. This original big eye gothic angel fairy painting is currently available framed as shown above at the Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead San Juan Capistrano Library until November 30th after which the original unframed painting will return to my website at the link above; if interested before her possible return, please contact me regarding availability.  Currently art prints and LE ACEO prints are available on my website.  The painting is a little washed out from the flash, to see it more accurately, please view the link above.

This is one of my three paintings included in the Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead San Juan Capistrano Library show curated by Skye Amber Sweet.  Exhibit details are below.

Huehueteotl Aztec Dancers

The Huehueteotl Aztec Dancers were featured at the Dia de los Muertos "A Celebration of Life and Love" opening at the San Juan Capistrano Library.  If you'd like to see some of the art from the exhibit, please visit here.  The dancers were incredible and their headresses were amazing.  There were so many feathers.  I loved the percussion from the drums and the instruments aroud their feet.  I hope you'll enjoy these photographs that I took of them at the opening.

Whilst I have continued to sketch daily, I spent my time getting this ready and haven't had a chance to prep my sketches yet.  I'll try to get caught up on posting my daily sketches tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here. If you're logged in to Google or OpenID, you should still be able to post by clicking enter without filling in the word verification. I'm sorry about the glitch...
