It's the very tail end of Black History Month, but I'd still like to share this lovely maiden with you. I painted her for the Diversity and Inclusion: The Influence of African-American Art in Southern California at the Ontario Museum of Art Exhibit. When I did a little research, I found that it was traditional in Black History to put blue bottles in the garden to protect it. I decided I wanted to paint one of my garden guardians for the show with a blue orchid as a connection to the protection of the blue bottles.
I haven't added her to my website yet, but when I do I will share the link.
She is lovely!
ReplyDeleteFabulous portrait. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
