Beyond the veil, love remains. 🕯️💀🌸
Presenting "Plumes of Remembrance"—a sacred tribute to the beautiful, enduring bridge between memory and eternity created in honor of Día de los Muertos.
Framed by a crown of lush feathers and a skull-adorned band, her large, soulful brown eyes carry the warmth of eternal affection, highlighted by dramatic crimson accents. In the spirit of Día de los Muertos, we do not simply mourn those who have passed—we welcome them home with light, flowers, music, and art. May her gaze serve as a gentle reminder that those we hold in our hearts are never truly gone. 🧡✨
Some paintings come together in a flash; others demand a longer journey through the studio. I’ve been working on this piece off and on ever since creating the initial Xochitl Study drawing for the Mujeres Valientes exhibition at the Ontario Museum of History & Art, and seeing her fully realized in oils feels so deeply rewarding.
Painted in traditional oils on a 16" x 20" cradled wood panel. Fits standard 16" x 20" framing, or a hanging wire can gladly be installed upon request for immediate display!
✨ "Plumes of Remembrance" is currently available. Please send a DM if you are interested in welcoming this centerpiece into your collection! 💚
