Sketch of Anthurium Flowers, October 23 Art Sketches Daily...

Here is a sketch of three anthurium flowers.  There's something very compelling to me about anthuriums, I've painted a couple of large paintings of them.  I also have a little anthurium in my room; although I don't think it will ever bloom, I love the leaves...  I'm unsure if I'll paint these or not, but I did enjoy sketching them.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in October.  This is day 23.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.  I did take some pictures at the show, I'll post them when I get a chance, it was a very nice opening.

I am also participating in Sunday Sketches.  To view more Sunday Sketches, please visit:

  5. Thanks very much Valerie-Jael, Christine, Martin, Paula, carol, and Linda. Yes, these are based on some of the red ones, but I'm not sure if I have room on my plate for these ones right now. I do love anthuriums though and I've done a couple of other paintings featuring them...

  8. What lovely anthurium flowers. They remind me a little of calla lilies. Are they in the same area of flowers? Either or, very pretty. I would love to see these painted. :)

Thanks for visiting! I'm unable to comment on google+ sites that don't have the blog links, but I do visit. For some reason, even though I've said no to word verification, it still shows here.
