WIP Peacock Bird Art Original Painting Work in Progress + Sketch of a Big Eye Angel, Stokes Aster Flowers, & Fairy / April 25-27 / Art Sketches Daily...

In this original acrylic painting of a peacock, I've been working on the feathers.  This is a start to the background feathers, there will be some lighter colored feathers in the foreground.  Athough, there may be a midtone background feather before I get to the topmost feathers...  I'll eventually do highlights with the gold leafing paint near the very end of the painting.  The canvas that I'm painting on is 11"x14" 

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

April 25-27 Sketches

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a look of gentle concern...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

This week my featured painting is "Midnight Kiss," an original painting of a big eye gothic mermaid with a fancy betta fish inspired tail. She has huge violet eyes and lips of blue. WIP Chow Chow Puppy Dog Art Original Painting Work in Progress + Sketch of a Big Eye Mermaid, Verbena Flowers, & Angel Fairy / April 18-20 / Art Sketches Daily...

In this original acrylic painting of a chow chow puppy dog, I'm a couple of layers deeper in her fur.  I'm starting to get the colors and the fluffiness that I'm looking for with this piece but she still needs a few more layers.  I've blocked in the eyes and the nose, but I'll detail them at some point in the future.  The panel that I'm painting on is 5"x7"
