My Photograph of a Painted Lady Butterfly on White Lilac Flowers at Descanso Gardens + March Sketches Art, Day 1 Sketch, Angel Fairy...

I took this photograph of this Painted Lady butterfly on white lilac flowers at Descanso Gardens a while back.  When they are in bloom, the fragrance of these flowers attracts many butterflies...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers and animals, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She has a feeling of strength and her eyes are accented.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in March.  This is day 1.

This is a rough sketch.

My Photograph of a Painted Lady Butterfly at Descanso Gardens...

I took this photograph of a butterfly flitting from purple flower to purple flower at Descanso Gardens.  I'm not certain, but I believe it is a Painted Lady butterfly... The Painted Lady Vanessa cardui butterfly is one of my favorites.  I'm not sure what the lilac flowers it is feasting on are called, but it definitely loved them.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!
