Three Original Heart Paintings and a Bevy of Valentine Prints...

Amidst the Sky, my small original acrylic heart painting with texture, is listed here and my bevy of Valentine art prints are listed here.

Pink on Pink, my small original acrylic heart painting with texture, is listed here.

Blue on Blue, my small original acrylic heart painting with texture, is listed here.

Usually on Tuesdays I post about my listings and on Wednesdays I try to post a photograph I've taken if I have a chance, but while I did list on Tuesday, I ran out of oomph after doing so...  I realized I have a rather large assortment of art at my site at http://www.lisarusso.com that potentially fits the Valentine theme.  I've gone with traditional favorites like hearts, red roses, a teddy bear, and a heart on the horizon for my promotional rate art this week; but if you have any special requests, let me know and maybe I can work it into the mix!  Anyway, hopefully next week I'll get back on course!

On Wednesdays, when I get a chance, I like to share a photo, or in this case a number of photographs, that I've taken.  These are some pictures from Craig and Amy's amazing wedding, it was a costume wedding...  I took more pictures then I care to admit, but I've winnowed them down to some of my favorites!  This is Part III of III, that includes a picture of the lovely bride and fire...  Part I may be found here and Part II may be found here.

An Original Gothic Mermaid Painting and an Eclectic Assortment of Prints...

This week, I am featuring this original painting here and the print of it here.  This gothic mermaid has a gift for her sea turtle friend.

Additional fine art prints listed are here.  They are "Timeless Beauty" a white iris, "Soft Light" a blue mermaid, "Heart's Wish" a yellow and crimson orchid, "Twirls and Curls" a big eyed mermaid with some fish friends, and "Waiting for You" a brown and tan kitty cat.  They're all based on my original paintings and will also end next Tuesday.

Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to offer some images on eBay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions!  This week is also a Nibblefest week, so I have an original acrylic painting no reserve 99c start auction here of five random things.

I'm in a bit of a mermaid mood this week...  I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it will lead to anything.  Sometimes they do, sometimes not so much so, but I think I'm going to explore it a bit...

Bodies and Shadows: Caravaggio and His Legacy at LACMA & My Nibblefest

Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio is a master painter of epic scale.  Until I went to see Bodies and Shadows at LACMA, I do not think I've ever had the honor of seeing one of his pieces in person.  They had eight of his original paintings.  Including those eight, the exhibition had 56 works in total.

The Apostle Saint Thomas by Diego Velázquez

It was against the rules to photograph any of the paintings by Caravaggio himself, but it was allowed to photograph some of the other paintings.  I took a number of them that I'd like to share, but I'm starting with these four.

Saint Mary of Egypt by Jusepe de Ribera

I've known Caravaggio to be a master of light and shadow, but the folds and drapes of the clothing worn by his subjects were just awe inspiring.

Jesus among the Doctors of the Faith - Master of the Annunciation to the Sheperds by undetermined artist of the Ribera circle

If you are at all in the Los Angeles area, I'd highly suggest a visit to LACMA before the exhibit ends on February 10th.  They also have an exhibit on Stanley Kubrick and I believe they'll let you see both in one visit for the same price.  To learn more about the details, please visit http://www.lacma.org.

Saint Sebastian Tended by Irene by Nicolas Régnier

Before my visit, I finished painting this little original acrylic Nibblefest painting that's up for auction here.  The theme was five random things.  I chose a lucky cat, a cherry, a heart shaped nut shell, and a polka dot ribbon.  I haven't done a still life painting in quite some time, but I enjoyed doing this one, I hope you will enjoy it too!

I meant to post my finished bird of paradise painting on Friday, but I am, as yet, unfinished...  It's very close, I just haven't had the opportunity yet to finish it up.  I don't mind painting smaller paintings sitting down, but with larger paintings, I prefer to paint standing up.  My foot is still hurting me, but I've been to a podiatrist and hopefully I should be feeling more inclined to work on larger paintings soon.

Edit:  I was visiting Kristin's lovely blog and joined up a post of one of my paintings with her Snowflake Blog Hop, hop on over if you have the opportunity!

An Original White Lily Flower Painting and an Eclectic Assortment of Prints...

This week, I am featuring this original painting here and the print of it here.  I tend to be drawn to light colored flowers at times, this white lily was no exception.  These auctions will end on Tuesday.

Additional fine art prints listed with no apparent theme this week are here.  They are "Seven" a blue angel fae, "Kawaii Neko" a grey and white kitten, "Azure Haired Beauty" a blue gothic fairy, and "Turning" a grey horse.  They're all based on my original paintings and will also end next Tuesday.

Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to sometimes offer some images on eBay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions!

I know I started it ages ago, but I am so very close to finishing my bird of paradise painting!  It just needs some subtle tweaking.  I hope to post it finished this Friday for Paint Party Friday.

An Original Dragon Painting an Original White Bunny Rabbit and an Eclectic Assortment of Prints...

This week, I am featuring this original painting here and the print of it here.  I am quite fond of this little fantasy nesting dragon!  These auctions will end on Thursday.

I also have up Snowy Bunny, a white winter hare, as an original here and as a print here.  These will end on Tuesday.

Additional fine art prints listed with no apparent theme this week are here.  They are "Elegance" a handful of pink saucer magnolias, "Gentle" a brown bunny rabbit, "Deep in Thought" a blue gothic angel, and "Little Owl" a young barn owl.  They're all based on my original paintings and will also end next Tuesday.

Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to sometimes offer some images on eBay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions!

I couldn't quite figure out a theme for the week, so I just went on whims of what I felt like listing this time around.  I don't usually list as an auction more than one original a week, but for some reason this week, I just felt like it...  I hope you will enjoy my eclectic assortment this week!

Amazing Artist Alex Ledante and Some of his Gifts...

When I first met Alex Ledante, he was still doing traditional art.  In short time though, his digital art became his focus.  These days his art is entirely digital, even his sketches are done on the computer.

A Sort of Fairytale by Alex Ledante

I have been a long time admirer of his art and have been lucky enough to see some of his art evolve from conception to completion.  The art that you see here is some art that he has created with great thoughtfulness as gifts.  In these, an adorable stuffed bunny and bear confide in each other, a girl shares secrets with her robot bear friend, some Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls gather together, and a lovely fairy sylph soars through the sky.

Plastic Pal by Alex Ledante

Some of it is more traditional in look and feel and some of it less so, but it is all amazing to me.  In his gifts, he has a wonderful ability to take a concept of what the recipient loves and create a piece that fills a void that was never noticed before.

To see more of his art, please visit his website at http://www.ledante.com.  Alex also is on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/alxledante and lists auctions weekly on ebay here.  This week, his theme is dolls, but his art is very varied in content.  While at times it is filled with great light and hope, at other times it is filled with great darkness; but it is always filled with great beauty.

Alex is a continuous source of inspiration to me, although I am a bit late, I am linking this post with Inspire Me Monday
