Happy 4th of July if you celebrate it!
Here is a work in progress view of an 11"x14" mermaid with seahorses painting. In this wip I am at the very start (sorry the lineart is a bit hard to see, but the colors are going to be fairly soft, so I don't want to be working against very dark pencil marks). The water color isn't quite reading as the combination of blue/teal that the background actually is. I had that same problem with my water lily fairy, but I was able to adjust the colors to be more true to the original at the end. For the work in progress posts, I'll probably leave the colors as is.
I'm at a little bit of a standstill with this one for the moment as I'd like to experiment with some details of the seahorses on a smaller panel, so I need to sketch an individual seahorse to experiment with...
