This Week "La Sonrisa" Original 8"x10" Painting here
8"x10" Open Edition print here
ACEO 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition LE 1st of 25 here
I am listing "La Sonrisa," an original gothic Day of the Dead / Dia de los Muertos inspired painting. This cavalera sugar skull DOTD / DDLM Latina maiden has an enigmatic smile, hence the title "La Sonrisa," which means translates from Spanish to English to "The Smile." This has a surreal lowbrow fantasy feel...
I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with some Day of the Dead inspired art as well as a couple of less tied in pieces to round out the group...
Most of my art is also available on my website at www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to put some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions... I have been updating my website. It's an ongoing project, but there is now an excellent selection of art available!
I am linking this post with Inspire Me Monday
Here is a sketch of an Asian metal dragon teapot. It sits atop my desk. I bought it from an antique shop that was going out of business; I have no idea if it has any value or not, but it's one of my favorite things. I haven't really done it justice in this sketch, it is a sweet object. I very rarely do still life art. I doubt I'll paint, but I did enjoy sketching it.
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April. This is day 12.
This is a rough sketch.
