Art Sketch of a Big Eye Angel Fairy & a Koi Fish, May 12 & 13 Daily Sketches...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She has a serene peacefulness in her countenance.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in May.  This is from day 12.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a koi fish.  I liked the way he was turning, koi fish are so fluid in the water.  I'm unsure if I'll paint him or not, but I did enjoy sketching him.

Valentine Heart Koi Fish Original Art Painting! Art Prints & ACEO Prints! May Sketches...

This Week "Aiko Koi" Original 5"x7" Painting here
5"x7" Open Edition print here
ACEO 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition LE 1st of 25 here

I am listing "Aiko Koi," an original koi fish painting. This fish has a sweet heart pattern.  The art has a lowbrow realist feel.  There is some texture in the background of the original painting.

I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with a theme of some of my favorite paintings with hearts in them...  I think it can be Valentine's any time of the year!

Most of my art is also available on my website at www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to put some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions... I have been updating my website. It's an ongoing project, but there is now an excellent selection of art available!

After the auction, "Aiko Koi" will be available on my website here if unsold.

I am linking this post with Inspire Me Monday

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She is wearing a wonderful tiny top hat and I think she has a gaze of contemplation...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

Work in Progress Mermaid with Seahorses Original Painting & Aiko Koi Fish Website Update...

Here is a work in progress view of my 11"x14" original mermaid painting with seahorses.  I've done some more work on the shading on her face, but I'm still working on her eyelashes and lips.  I also see some of her shading that I may revisit as well...  After that, all that's left is her hair, I'd like to have this done by Tuesday, but I'm not sure how much time she'll need to be entirely complete.

I'm joining in this week with Paint Party Friday.  To see more participants, please visit:

Levitating Koi Fish at Descanso Gardens...

One of my favorite things to do is to sit and watch the koi fish at Descanso Gardens.  I usually photograph them as I watch them.  I am going through some of my koi fish photographs today to select some of them to print out and sketch for an upcoming painting.  It's hard to decide, there are so many cute koi fish!  This one caught my attention because to me in the photograph it looks a bit like the koi fish is levitating.  In reality, it is in the water, but I thought it was a nifty optical illusion...
