Here is a sketch of a Little Owl (Athene noctua). This is the favored owl of the Greek goddess Athena, also known as Minerva by the Romans. I am going to have this little owl nestled on Athena's shoulder for one of my upcoming paintings. Thanks to Paul Sawford for letting me use his amazing photo as reference...
