Gothic Big Eye Mermaid Original Art Painting! Art Prints & ACEO Prints! April Sketches...

This Week "Song of the Siren" Original 5"x7" Painting here
5"x7" Open Edition print here
ACEO 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition LE 1st of 25 here

I am listing "Song of the Siren," an original gothic big eye mermaid. Her eyes are closed, she prepares to sing her song. This one has a surreal lowbrow fantasy feel...

I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with some of my mermaids...

Most of my art is also available on my website at www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to put some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions... I have been updating my website. It's an ongoing project, but there is now an excellent selection of art available!

Facebook has been reducing the amount of posts from pages that you like displayed in your feed; to see everything, please bookmark my page and come to visit!

After the auction, "Song of the Siren" will be available on my website here.

Here is a sketch of a vase that sits on my desk.  I don't remember what I was looking for on ebay, but when I saw this Asian vase, I was smitten with it.  I haven't really done it justice in this sketch, it is a lovely vase, I very rarely do still life art.  I've had it for many years, but only recently have taken it out of its box and put it out.  I doubt I'll paint, but I did enjoy sketching it.

My arm is much improved, unfortunately I didn't get that far with my as yet untitled Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead painting...  Someday I'll finish it though, I so long to be a faster painter, I have so many ideas and yet each painting requires however much time that it needs...

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April.  This is day 5.

This is a rough sketch.

Still Life by Francisco de Zurbarán at the Norton Simon Museum of Art + Website Update...

I took this photograph of "Still Life with Lemons, Oranges and a Rose" by Francisco de Zurbarán at the Norton Simon Museum of Art.  I feel it has a powerful draw.  To Catholics of the 17th century, this painting would have had deep symbolic religious meaning.  It is the only signed and dated piece by this master of the Seville school of painting.  I find its beauty inspiring.

Al-Rubaie Art is a contemporary master when comes to still life paintings.  She does some of the most amazing paintings I have ever seen, if you have a chance, take a look at her magnificent paintings.

"An Auspicious Collection" Original Painting SOLD
Open Edition 5"x7" Giclee Prints & Limited Edition Giclee ACEO Prints Here

This is one of my rare still life paintings.  I was inspired by the theme of five random things.  It has a lucky cat, a cherry, a pretty ribbon, a pear, and a heart shaped nut shell...  The piece has a soft realist feel.  Although I no longer have the original, I do have this piece available as prints and ACEOs!

Every week on Tuesday, I try to list a small original, some giclee art prints, and giclee LE ACEO prints at promotional prices. Visit here to see what I have available this week!

Art by Stunning Realist Artist Al-Rubaie...

painting by Al-Rubaie

This piece is by artist Al-Rubaie.  As gorgeous as it is on the screen, my scanner can not convey the true beauty of it.  This piece is one of my favorite pieces of art.  I would highly recommend checking out some of this artist's work here on ebay.  Right now the artist has a couple of larger pieces up that are magnificent.  Al-Rubaie also paints and offers smaller pieces on occasion, which is how I had the good fortune to acquire some pieces by this artist.  They are all fantastic and I feel so honored to have them, but this is the only one I have scanned it at the moment.  I am hoping to do a follow up post at some point to this one and share some more with you.

I feel like I've been given a rare opportunity to see this art and artist and I want to share this with you.  This artist is a gift and I think that art can be a window to the soul of the artist and what I see is so full of grace.  Getting to see this art and having the opportunity to know this artist moves me and inspires me.
