Technically summer solstice shared with Father's Day this year, so I decided to share this today.  When I think of summer, I think of long days, heat, and beautiful sunflowers!  Of the three, I think I love sunflowers the most.  They are filled with hope.

Sunlight Sunbright was inspired by some flowers growing in my mother's students gardens.  They were large and lovely.  I very much enjoyed painting this vibrant flower.  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel.

I am listing "Petite Fleur de Soleil," an original painting of a bright sunflower against a blue sky.  These yellow flowers are so full of joy to me.  The art has a soft realist impressionist feel...

I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here  this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with a theme of birds and blooms.  They are mainly sunflowers and hummingbirds, but a cardinal has found a way into the mix.  

Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to put some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions...  I have been updating and adding payment buttons to my website.  I still have more to add, but there is now an excellent selection of art available!

This painting has rejoined my collection.  After the auction, "Petite Fleur de Soleil" will be available on my website here although I have yet to add the link to the original, I'll post an update when I do if it does not sell at the promo rate this week.

I am listing "Summer Sun," an original painting of two sunflowers with a soft impressionist realist  feel.  I rarely paint oil paintings due to my allergies, but this is painted with oils!  Usually my favorite colors are blue, purple, and black; but when it comes to flowers, I am not immune to the beauty of a broader spectrum...  

I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with a theme of sunflowers; one hummingbird has also sneaked in on an image that also has sunflowers.

This piece is by artist Al-Rubaie.  As gorgeous as it is on the screen, my scanner can not convey the true beauty of it.  This piece is one of my favorite pieces of art.  I would highly recommend checking out some of this artist's work here on ebay.  Right now the artist has a couple of larger pieces up that are magnificent.  Al-Rubaie also paints and offers smaller pieces on occasion, which is how I had the good fortune to acquire some pieces by this artist.  They are all fantastic and I feel so honored to have them, but this is the only one I have scanned it at the moment.  I am hoping to do a follow up post at some point to this one and share some more with you.

I feel like I've been given a rare opportunity to see this art and artist and I want to share this with you.  This artist is a gift and I think that art can be a window to the soul of the artist and what I see is so full of grace.  Getting to see this art and having the opportunity to know this artist moves me and inspires me.
