I took this photograph of some daffodils at Descanso Gardens. They were in front towards the entrance, although there are now other plants growing there. Spring comes and goes so quickly in Southern California! There are still many beautiful flowers to see there now though.

8"x10" print here
ACEO 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition LE 1st of 25 here
Here is "Night Lily" a blue and purple gothic tiger lily flower...
I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here with a theme of purple flowers; some true to life, some more imagined.
Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to offer some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions... I have started at updating and adding payment buttons to my website. It's a very slow project, but one I hope to focus on.
Christopharo has asked for some images of art that I'll be bringing to the No Themes & No Limits show in Pomona, California on Saturday June 14th. It's hard to decide! Definitely the works will be predominately fantasy, as that has been my primary focus of late. Additional show information is here.

Temple Wrestler at the Norton Simon Museum of Art & Mermaid Painting WIP...
I think this temple wrestler sculpture from Cambodia at the Norton Simon Museum of Art is full of energy. Their collection of paintings is so magnificent that I sometimes forget that they have an exceptional collection of Asian art downstairs. This wrestler may be going on a trip, so give them a call if you specifically want to see him in case he's already gone...
I am linking this post with Inspire Me Monday
I've done some work on my big eye mermaid painting. At this point in the work in progress I feel I still need to shade her a little bit more and then I'll paint her features. The hair is blocked in white via photoshop for the moment just to show approximately where it will go, it will be more of a fuschia color once I've painted it...

Waterlily Fairy Painting Work in Progress Continues...
I've done a bit more work on my waterlily fairy maiden painting. I've been working on her dress. She is part of my garden guardian series. I'd like to have her done for the upcoming show, but as she's one my larger pieces, we'll see how it goes.
Thanks for the kind words on my inclusion in the No Themes & No Limits show in Pomona, California on Saturday June 14th. Additional show information is here.

Work in Progress Continues on Mermaid with Betta Fish Tail Painting...
Here is an updated work in progress view of my big eye mermaid with a fancy betta fish tail. Although her hair won't be white when I'm done, I've blocked it in with white in photoshop to give an idea of where the hair roughly will be going...
If I finish this on time, I will likely be including her in the No Themes & No Limits show in Pomona on Saturday June 14th. Additional show information is here.

This Week "Lace Wings" Original 8"x10" Painting here
8"x10" print here
ACEO 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition LE 1st of 25 here
Here is "Lace Wings" a gothic Latina big eye fairy with purple violet eyes and long purple hair. Her wings are inspired by the wings of a lace wing butterfly. I think she has a quiet intensity...I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here with a theme of big eye fairies and a fairy kitten and a fairy puppy.
Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to offer some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions... I have started at updating and adding payment buttons to my website. It's a very slow project, but one I hope to focus on.
We're not moving, but we do need to have some repairs done, so my focus has been on trying to get the house ready for that. I apologize that I haven't been updating as frequently as I usually try to. However, I have been invited to participate in a show with Christopharo and Alex Ledante, and I am thrilled about that and I will be trying to complete some new works for the show, so I should have some updates upcoming!

A Photograph of a Purple Round Dr. Suess Flowers at Descanso Gardens...
I took this photograph of three purple flowers being visited by bees at Descanso Gardens. I'm not sure what kind of flower this is, it's similar to garlic flowers but not quite a match; it reminds of flowers that Dr. Suess would illustrate. I've been focused on trying to get my home decent for inspectors/repair people to come so my paintings in progress are waiting patiently for me...
Edit: It turns out my mystery flowers are Alliums, thank you Rebecca and Descanso Gardens twitter!
