Kay Sage: Surrealist Artist from In Wonderland at LACMA + Seahorses WIP
A while back, I went to the LACMA show In Wonderland: The Surrealist Adventures of Women Artists in Mexico and the United States. Here are some pieces by artist Kay Sage. I thought her artwork was very interesting and reminded me a bit of some of Salvador Dali's pieces. "Danger, Construction Ahead" was her first large scale painting that she did in the U.S. and it was focused on European intellectuals, some of whom Kay Sage helped to relocate due to the war. With the last two, I'm not certain which number went with which piece, but I thought they were both fascinating.
Here is a work in progress view of my two seahorses. I believe I'm finished with the seaweed...

Kay Sage is a very cool artist! Almost like being on another planet, looking at them! Amazing! Your seahorses are looking so pretty! Really loving the background!

The Minutes... both images remind me so much of a reoccurring dream I had as a child. I'm a lover of surrealism. Great post!
