Sketch of a Tadjik Markhor Goat, April 17 Art Sketches Daily...
Here is a sketch of a tadjik markhor goat. I saw this fellow during a recent visit to the Los Angeles Zoo and I was fascinated by his horns. I'd like to give them to one of my Gothic maidens, but first I think I'd like to do a study of the animal itself. This is based on one of the photographs I took while visiting the L.A. Zoo. I've chosen another to sketch and once I've done that, I'll choose between them and decide which one to refine and potentially paint. I might want to get my lamb painting in progress before I go too much further with this though...
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April. This is day 17.
This is a rough sketch. You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.
I am also participating in Sunday Sketches. To view more Sunday Sketches, please visit:

How I love nature and wildlife and this drawing you did! The horns are pretty cool. Thanks for stopping by.
I love the symmetry of his horns, well done Lisa!
your fascination shines though in beauty
Great goat sketch, Lisa! Fantastic horns!
I love this sketch Lisa! He looks medieval to me!
nice sketch :D horns like that would look really neat on a maidens head :)
Wow! I love the chiseled feel of him. Blessings!
Nice sketch. The horns came out great. Animals are a real challenge for me to draw.
It is beautiful. You have great talent!
Awww, thanks so much! I've seen markhors before, but I don't think I can resist doing a painting of him at some point!
