In this original acrylic work in progress WIP big eye maiden painting I've worked on the background and a couple of the butterflies... She is a Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead sugar skull inspired painting. The butterflies are monarch butterflies and they surround her. I'm having trouble uploading images to my computer from my camera, so this is a roughly cobbled together scan... I have to get another tool for that, but I didn't have time for today. I'd also love to get a large format scanner someday, but another tool is more likely... This fairy angel is an 11"x14" acrylic painting.
This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit! You also may see some of my finished paintings at www.lisarusso.com if you'd like.
Here is a sketch of an anthurium. This time the anthurium is in front of a couple of very small calla lilies. They are both flowers that I love. I'm unsure if I'll paint it, but I did enjoy sketching it.
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in August. This is day 28.
This is a rough sketch.

Thanks very much Valerie-Jael, Victoria, and Christine! NatureFootstep, there's so much more yet to come on this one, but while I very much enjoy Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead art, not everyone does...

to be honest, these sketches were too faint on my computer.

i love big eyes as it is said that eyes are windows of soul so the wider they open the better can see inside
Thanks so very much Stacy and baili! I'm sorry they weren't dark enough for your monitor Martin.
