This week my featured painting is "Bright Triad".  The three red tropical flowers flow together in beautiful dance.  The art has a soft realist feel.  The original anthurium floral acrylic painting is available for purchase on my website as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  Her hair flits about her face...  I think she is most likely a mermaid, although she could also be a fairy angel or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in October. This is from day 9. 

I would like to try to reach a goal of 100 faces sketched on consecutive days, I started this effort on September 1st, 2017...  This is face 39.

Here is a sketch of an anthurium flower.  Flowers have so many shapes, I find them fascinating to sketch.  It is in my tiny sketchbook that measures 3.5x5.5 inches.   I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in November.  This is day 22.  

This is a sketch in colored pencils.  I'm not really a colored pencil artist but I am exploring something new for the sketchbook.  I will be juxtaposing my usual rough sketches with the colored pencil sketches at varying intervals.  I tend to sketch very lightly, so these and my usual pencil ones are darkened a bit in photoshop for online viewing.

Here is a sketch of three anthurium flowers.  There's something very compelling to me about anthuriums, I've painted a couple of large paintings of them.  I also have a little anthurium in my room; although I don't think it will ever bloom, I love the leaves...  I'm unsure if I'll paint these or not, but I did enjoy sketching them.

WIP Dia de los Muertos Day of the Dead Art Original Painting Work in Progress + August Sketches, Sketch 29, Anthurium...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP big eye maiden painting I've worked on the background and a couple of the butterflies...  She is a Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead sugar skull inspired painting.  The butterflies are monarch butterflies and they surround her.  I'm having trouble uploading images to my computer from my camera, so this is a roughly cobbled together scan...  I have to get another tool for that, but I didn't have time for today.  I'd also love to get a large format scanner someday, but another tool is more likely...  This fairy angel is an 11"x14" acrylic painting.

Fairy Angel Big Eye Gothic Sketch Art + Anthurium Flowers Duet Website Update...

Here is a work in progress sketch of a big eye maiden that I have been refining to paint.  She is a fairy angel with flowers in her hair, I believe her dress will also be made of flower petals.  I've sketched her at least two or three times, sometimes it takes me a while to get the sketch down.  I feel that if I'm not happy with the lineart wip, I shouldn't go any further until I am.  I'm mostly happy at this point, I might want to play with the placement of the flowers in her hair, but for the most part I think I'm almost ready to move forward with this one.
