In this original 5"x7" work in progress WIP oil painting of a bantam rooster, I've been working on the background and beak. I've also started on his crest and eye, but I'm not done painting them, as yet they're just blocked in. I'm planning on using a texture medium with some overpainting for the crest when I get there, but I may or may not save that for last... I hope to have him done for Tuesday, but we'll see..

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden. She has some seriously long and luxurious eye lashes! I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid. I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.
I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in January. This is day 12.
