Chocolate Brown Labrador Lab Puppy Dog! Art Prints & ACEO Prints! Alex Ledante on Youtube...

"Man's Best Friend" 8"x10" Prints and LE ACEO Prints here

This week my featured image is "Man's Best Friend," the original painting has already found its forever home but this canine art is available as art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The dog is inspired by a chocalate brown labrador lab dog with great love in its eyes.  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel...

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions...  This month, my theme is mermaids, but there are more than just mermaids to see.  If you would like to take a look; you may see them here.

Alex Ledante on Youtube

Alex Ledante is one of my favorite artists.  He has started a new endeavor that I am happy to be sharing with you.  He is creating videos that showcase the makings of some of his art pieces.  Like most things he does, these videos are works of art in and of themselves.  Please take a look at his channel here.

I love watching his videos, they are a welcome respite; even though there's just a like button, I hope you'll love them too and hit the like and subscribe buttons as well!

Art Sketch of an Icelandic Poppy Flower, June 24 Daily Sketches + Adult Coloring Book "the Girls of High Adventure!" by Alex Ledante

Here is a sketch of an icelandic poppy.  I love the delicacy of these flowers.  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in June.  This is day 24.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Alex Ledante of The Darker Side of Passion has created "the Girls of High Adventure!"  It is an adult coloring book with 50 images of women from the Hyborian Age for you to color...  I've seen the artist's proof and the art is incredible!  It is available at the link below.

Space Invaders Attack + Sketch of a Big Eye Elf Fairy Angel, April 9 Daily Art Sketches...

Space Invaders have attacked artist Alex Ledante of The Darker Side of Passion at his website http://www.ledante.com.  Check out their shenanigans!  He may find a way to chase them off after April, so their invasion is temporary if he escapes their dire efforts...

Space invaders have it out for Alex Ledante...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She seems quite inquisitive.  I think she is most likely an elven fairy angel, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April.  This is day 9.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

The Sweeter Side of Artist Alex Ledante...

Here is a custom piece by artist Alex Ledante, it was made as a gift.  There is a beautiful fairy lass touching the nose of a bear; what a sweet fairytale Alex has composed...  She has lovely violet accents against a gorgeous forest and the bear is filled with wonder.  This is a scan of the print, actual colors are even more rich and beautiful.  His website is here and his facebook page is here.  He also runs weekly auctions here.  This is the sweeter side of The Darker Side of Passion...

The No Themes & No Limits Art Show 2...

me, Lisa Isabella Russo, with my art

my art (Lisa Isabella Russo)

Here is my art and me with my art at the show.  It was wonderful to look at the joy on some of the people's faces as they looked at my art.  This wall represents around a full year of what I have been doing.  There are some pieces that are not there because they didn't quite fit or were sold prior to the show, but that is almost all of the works I have done since around this time last year...  To see more of my art, please visit http://www.lisarusso.com.

I've done some more on my mermaid work in progress, her hair won't be white it will be more of a fuschia, but I've blocked it in in photoshop to show where it will go.  I think I'll be completing her on time for the show!

Artist Alex Ledante, the Movie Tim's Vermeer, & a Fairy WIP

A Certain Sense of Liberty by Alex Ledante

Alex Ledante is one of my favorite artists and while I was watching the movie Tim's Vermeer, it occured to me that it has been a while since I've shared any of his inspiring art.  His website is here and his facebook page is here.  He also runs weekly auctions here.

Keeper of Secrets by Alex Ledante

Alex is a classically trained artist who now works entirely in the digital realm.  When I first met him, he did a lot of his work traditionally, but that is no longer the case.

(Portrait of) Grimaldi by Alex Ledante

He is a continuous source of inspiration to me.  I have the honor of watching him create sometimes and it is amazing.  He uses his creativity to create art I couldn't even dream about without his vision.

Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Alex Ledante

The movie Tim's Vermeer is about the inventor Tim Jenison and his exploration of recreating Vermeer's "Music Lesson” painting.  Tim is founder of NewTek, a video technology company and he had a theory about how Johannes Vermeer created his art using technology.  Vermeer's art has no underlying sketches, it seems to materialize magically.  Tim's theory involved the use of lenses and very carefully, meticulously applied paint.  I was highly skeptical initially, but I found myself agreeing with his theory as I watched this documentary film produced by Penn Jillette and directed by Teller.  It reminded me of Alex's work because it used technology to create great beauty.

Here is a work in progress view of my fairy, not any painting progress yet on the spider, I am still working on improving the sketch before I go any further with it...

Me with My Art

Here is some of my art at the No Themes and No Limits Show at the Chateau L'Amour.  I really embraced the No Themes element of the show and shared an eclectic mix of art.

Just My Art

I also photographed some of the art that I shared a wall with.  I was honored to share a wall with Alex Ledante and Christo Pharo.

Alex with His Art

I invite you to see more of Alex's art on his facebook page here, on his website here, and at his auctions here.

Christopharo's Art

The Wall

Alex Ledante inspires me to try and be a better artist each and every day.  Christo Pharo inspired me to display some of my art and interact with people in person.  I am inspired by and thankful to both of them!  Thanks also to Dennis Delgado for letting me display my art at his gallery.
