Chocolate Brown Labrador Lab Puppy Dog! Art Prints & ACEO Prints! Alex Ledante on Youtube...

"Man's Best Friend" 8"x10" Prints and LE ACEO Prints here

This week my featured image is "Man's Best Friend," the original painting has already found its forever home but this canine art is available as art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The dog is inspired by a chocalate brown labrador lab dog with great love in its eyes.  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel...

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions...  This month, my theme is mermaids, but there are more than just mermaids to see.  If you would like to take a look; you may see them here.

Alex Ledante on Youtube

Alex Ledante is one of my favorite artists.  He has started a new endeavor that I am happy to be sharing with you.  He is creating videos that showcase the makings of some of his art pieces.  Like most things he does, these videos are works of art in and of themselves.  Please take a look at his channel here.

I love watching his videos, they are a welcome respite; even though there's just a like button, I hope you'll love them too and hit the like and subscribe buttons as well!

This show is CLOSED, please send inquiries for additional available work to info@kpprojects.net.

When I went to the GILDED HORIZON exhibit at KP Projects (Merry Karnowsky Gallery), I saw the works of Jean-Pierre Arboleda for the first time.  I was moved by his love of animals and surrealist attention to detail.  My photos of the paintings of his that I saw at the show follow.

I will link updates here as I share the works of other artists from this show, including those of one of my favorite artists, Audrey Kawasaki.

Sketch of Peony Flower, Pug Dog & Big Eye Angel Fairy/ April 7, 8, & 9 Art Sketches Daily...

Here is a sketch of a peony flower.  I think it's the first time I've drawn one of these, they are such pretty flowers though.  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it...

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April.  This is from day 7.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a pug.  I think they are adorable little dogs...  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April.  This is from day 8.

This is a rough sketch.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a sweet curiousity...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy , although she could also be a goddess or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in April.  This is day 9.

This is a rough sketch.

Art Sketch of an English Springer Spaniel Dog...

Here is a sketch of an English springer spaniel.  Dogs are such sweet animals!  My reference for this dog was a very small image and while I might try this kind of dog again at some point, I'm unlikely to paint this specific one.  I did enjoy sketching him though.  I chose him because the 29 faces challenge starts again tomorrow, so since I'll be sketching lots of faces soon, I decided for today to sketch this pup.

This is a rough sketch.  You may see some of my finished paintings at http://www.lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Chow Chow Dog Art Original Painting Work in Progress WIP + Gothic Mermaid Art Website Update...

I'm taking a little bit of a break from my gothic angel fairy painting to work on this original 8"x10" chow chow dog painting.  The background is painted and I have started work on her features.  Next I will begin her fur.  I love animals and I find them a joy to paint...

Now Up on My Website!
"Looking In" Original 11"x11" Painting, Open Edition 8"x10" Giclee Prints & Limited Edition Giclee ACEO Prints Here

"Looking In" is one of my gothic mermaid paintings.  She is painted directly on to a porthole frame.  She has big brown eyes and long flowing dark brown hair.  Due to the round format of the original, I did digital variations to fit the 8"x10" print format and LE ACEO format which you may see on my website.  The art has a lowbrow surreal feel.  This piece is available as an original, as prints, and Limited Edition ACEOs!

My website at http://www.lisarusso.com has more art available, including additional mermaids in the fantasy art section!

Every week on Tuesday, I try to list a small original, some giclee art prints, and giclee LE ACEO prints at promotional prices. Visit here to see what I have available this week!

My Photograph of a Rose at Huntington Gardens & Happy National Dogs Day...

I took this photograph of a rose at Huntington Gardens a while back.  It was by one of the galleries and I think it looks very elegant.  I loved the two toned colors of white and soft violet...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

Happy National Dogs Day from http://www.lisarusso.com

I'm working on a new dog painting, they're such sweet animals, this is a piece that's on my website here.  I hope that if you have a pup, you and your friend are having a great day!

Chow Chow Dog Sketch Art...

Here is a rough sketch of a chow chow dog.  Actually, I think this may be a chow chow dog mix, I'm not entirely sure.  I'm in the process of starting a dog painting, this is one of my initial sketches.  This dog is so sweet with her fluffy fur!

Leonardo da Vinci Inspired Painting + 29 Faces 26 & 27...

This is a commission painting I was able to deliver recently.  It's titled "Wendy on the Rocks."  It is loosely inspired by Leondardo da Vinci's painting "Virgin of the Rocks."  The lovely Wendy is the client's wife and Beau and Belle are their beautiful Bichon Frise kids.  I'm posting all of my work in progress pictures here today, but it definitely took me more than a week to finish this 11"x14" acrylic painting.  I hope you will enjoy seeing it.

Tin was a fantastic client and took the amazing reference photographs that I used for Wendy and the pups.

Before I began the painting, I did some larger sketches of Wendy's face and the two dogs, although in the painting their features are very small, I wanted to try and capture their features before I scaled them down to fit the size of the painting.  Alex Ledante helped me get everything to scale before I began.

I'm also counting the sketch as my 26th face and the finished painting as my 27th face for the 29 faces challenge.  The challenge is to share 29 faces in the month of September.
