Yellow Bird Amidst Some Yellow Flowers at Huntington Gardens...

 

I took this photograph of a yellow bird amidst some yellow flowers at Huntington Gardens some time ago.  It was actually in the parking lot as we were leaving.  I woke this day with a powerful urge to look at the beauty of the gardens and decided to share this one with you.  I hope it will bring you some hapiness as it did me.

I took this photograph of these yellow peach Jimson Weed flowers at Descanso Gardens during my most recent visit.  The gardens are full of beautiful flowers this fall.  This flower goes by Datura and Angel's Trumpet and many more names!  My grandparents used to have this flower in their garden, but their flowers were white.  I hadn't seen Jimsomweed before in this color.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

"Petite Fleur de Soleil" is a vibrant yellow sunflower.  Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers.  The art has a realist impressionist feel.  I've had this piece as prints and Limited Edition ACEOs on my website for a while, but the original has come back into my collection and I am now able to offer the original painting once more!

I took this photograph of some white and yellow pansies at Descanso Gardens.  I think pansies are such sweet spring blooming flowers.  I have yet to paint a pansy, but I hope to at some point...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I took this photograph of a yellow orchid at Huntington Gardens in the greenhouse.  I love how the light is shining through the petals, orchids are one of my favorite flowers, they are so inspiring and have such beauty and diversity.  I think this one looks like it is reaching out for a hug...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo! 

Here is a sketch of a big eye gothic maiden.  Although they rarely occur in my art, I'm a big fan of hats!  This fairy angel has a serious and contemplative quality.  I'm not sure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I took this photograph at Descanso Gardens some time ago.  I'm not sure what type of flower these beautiful yellow blossoms are, but I thought they were warm and lovely...  There's also a darling little honey bee in the top left corner.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

Here is a rough sketch that I did of a big eye angel fairy.  I love her sweet sideways glance.  I'd like to paint her, but a problem with 29 faces is that I find myself wanting to paint too many of them and not nearly fast enough!  It's kind of a good problem to have though, because if I find myself with few ideas, I can flip through my 29 faces options for inspiration...  She is face 18 for the 29 faces challenge in February.  For 29 Faces, the challenge is to share 29 faces in the month of February.
