Happy Thanksgiving! Zen Waterlily Water Lily Pink Flower Original Painting...

Happy Thanksgiving wishes from me to you.  This has been a different kind of year than most, but I am still thankful for so much.  I hope you have a beautiful and safe day.

"Zen Waterlily" Original 5"x7" Painting, Open Edition 5"x7" Giclee Prints & Limited Edition Giclee ACEO Prints Here

This is "Zen Waterlily," an original pink water lily painting.  I love to see and paint flowers, they have such a delicate grace.  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel...

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions... This month, my theme is angel art and more; you may see them here.

My Photograph of Spring Pink Cherry Blossoms Sakura at Descanso Gardens...

Most years I visit Descanso and Huntington Gardens many times in the spring.  This year will be a bit different.  I did go once to Descanso Gardens before we were asked to stay home as much as possible.  This is a photo I took that day of a sakura tree boughs laden with pink cherry blossoms.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I'm not posting daily as my time on the computer is limited, but I am trying to post a bit more often as many of us are staying in more than usual.  I have many years of stockpiled photos, art shows I haven't shared yet, and my own art completed and in progress that I'd like to share some of with you.  If we can not go to the art or the gardens, I will strive to bring some of what I have to you...

I love to try to capture beauty, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisabellarusso.com if you'd like.

Little Red WIP Work in Progress

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a big eye little red riding hood I've been working on her underpainting.  Fairytales hold a strong allure for me.  In this piece, I'm focused on her face.  I've made her bangs a little bit longer and I'm continuing to work on the underpainting.  Although I'm not done with them, I've also added a bit of color to her eyes just for fun.

This big eyed beauty is on an 8"x10" panel in acrylics...

This is a work in progress, but you also may see some of my finished paintings at lisabellarusso.com if you'd like.

Original Little Owl Bird Painting! Art Prints & ACEO Prints! WIP Chocolate Labrador Lab Puppy Dog Work in Progress...

"Owlie" Original 10"x13" Painting on Wooden Plank here

This week my featured painting is "Owlie," an original Athene noctua owl painting.  Owlie is painted directly on a wood plank and would be great for fall or any time of the year!  There is hanging hardware on the back of the original so it is ready to hang.  This original bird painting is available on my website as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel...

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions...  This month, my theme is mermaids; you may see them here.

WIP Chocolate Labrador Lab Puppy Dog Art Original Painting Work in Progress...

In this original wip work in progress acrylic painting of a chocolate labrador, I have finished the background.  Next will come an underpainting of the dog himself.  The panel that I'm painting on is 8"x10" although the original is spoken for.  I will release prints at some point in the future.

WIP Marigold Flower Art Original Painting Work in Progress + Sketches of Big Eye Angels Fairies Maidens & Flowers / August 25-31 / Art Sketch Daily...

For the month of August I will be offering a free random rough sketch included with any original art order on my website lisarusso.com!  I plan on making some adjustments in pricing and content on my website, so now is an excellent time to take a look...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a marigold I've completed the background.  I've spent some time painting the stems and I've done an underpainting of the flower itself.  I'm going to glaze some orange over the underpainting and go from there.  This is a very ornate flower and I find myself enjoying the details, which I'm very glad of as there will be two in the hair of my Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead maiden that I hope to begin painting soon...

This lovely flower is on a 7"x5" panel in acrylics.

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

For the month of August I will be offering a free random rough sketch included with any original art order on my website lisarusso.com!  I plan on making some adjustments in pricing and content on my website, so now is an excellent time to take a look...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a marigold I am working on the background.  I've done three or four layers and am about to start working on the stems.  I didn't initially sketch the stems as this was originally sketched as one of two hair accents for a Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead painting I hope to begin soon and it didn't need it for that.  However, I decided it might be good to paint a solo version of the flower as well.  This is my first time painting bokeh (the little orbs in the background) in a piece.

This lovely flower is on a 7"x5" panel in acrylics...

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Pip & Pop Part II

"The Rainbow Gang" Installation at the Corey Helford Gallery

Closed Show

I found this art installation absolutely adorable.  "Here Comes Sunshine" is the debut U.S. Installation of artist Pip & Pop.  I was at the Corey Helford Gallery to see another show, but found the installation as well as the available pieces of "The Rainbow Gang" utterly charming.  They also had a video of Australian artist Tanya Schultz discussing and creating some of her fascinating works.  With sugar and assorted materials, she aims to create an earthly utopia.

Part I, the "Here Comes Sunshine" Installation is here.

This is part II of II of the Pip & Pop art focused on the "The Rainbow Gang."  They were so cute, I really wanted to take one home with me!  The show is closed, but the gallery may have some of the pieces available.
