Angel Fairy Sketch Art, 29 Faces Face 23 + Abstract Angel Website Update...

Here is a rough sketch that I did of a big eye angel fairy.  She has has a sweet and direct gaze.  I'm not sure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.  She is face 23 for the 29 faces challenge in February.  For 29 Faces, the challenge is to share 29 faces in the month of February and this month I am inspired by this challenge...

Playing with Acrylic Mediums + Abstract Angel Website Update...

This week has been more devoted to family and friends than to painting, but I am in the process of doing a little test.  Usually I like to shade wet into wet or glaze just with some water, but Alex is always going on about glazing with mediums.  I decided to buy a few mediums to test them out, however I didn't want to do so directly on my Athena painting as I'm not sure which will work best, so I've done some test patches.  The top one is Golden Matte Medium, the second one is Golden Polymer Medium (Gloss) and the bottom one is Golden Glazing Liquid (Gloss).  At this point I'm leaning towards the Golden Glazing Liquid (Gloss), the top one seems too brushy to me and the second one a bit too glossy; however, I looked at one of my shelves of art supplies, I noticed I have a couple more mediums to test, I'll let you know which one I feel works the best after I've tested them and asked Alex's opinion...

Athena Minerva in Progress Sketch & an Abstract Angel Art Website Update...

Here is a sketch of a possibility for the goddess for my Athena Minerva painting with her owl.  While this one has a sweet quality, I think I'd like to give her a more serious expression, so it's back to the drawing board for me.  It's very important to me to get the sketch the way I want it before I begin painting and sometimes this takes more than one try for me...
