"Encantadoras (Enchanting)" Original 8"x8" Painting on Canvas Here

This week my featured painting is "Encantadoras (Enchanting)".  These bright orange flowers are often featured in Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead celebrations. The original marigold floral painting is available for purchase on my website as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The art has an impressionist realist feel.

On the 1st Tuesday of the month I list some prints at a sale rate for 30 days  The theme this month is Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, with a bit of Wednesday thrown in, but this time the auctions will go dark before the next 1st Tuesday, so I'm listing this one as a sale print and LE ACEO as a bridge...  There will be additional art available as open edition giclee art and LE ACEO prints here next 1st Tuesday.

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisarusso.com; however, I like to put some art on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions... I have been updating my website. It's an ongoing project, but there is now an excellent selection of art available!

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a slightly mischevous expression.  I think she is most likely a fairy angel, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in October. This is from day 23. 

I would like to try to reach a goal of 100 faces sketched on consecutive days, I started this effort on September 1st, 2017...  This is face 53.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has long flowing hair and a cautious glance...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

"Encantadoras" is my newest addition to my website.  The original acrylic painting is on a square gallery wrapped canvas.  Two marigold flowers burn brightly against a lush green.  Marigolds are lovely on their own, but they are also a flower loved in Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead festivities.  The art has a soft realist impressionist feel.

I did not paint these this week, but the painting I did finish is my featured original currently listed with my Tuesday auctions!

I am listing "Encantadoras," an original floral painting.  This painting of golden orange marigolds will probably be the last painting I complete this year.  Marigolds are a flower loved in Day of the Dead / Dia de los Muertos festivities.  I think they are enchanting and lovely.  The art has a soft realist impressionist feel...

WIP Marigold Flowers Art Original Painting Work in Progress ...

I am working on the petals of this 8"x8" marigold painting.  In this work in progress, I've come close to completing the petals.  My next step in this wip is to complete the petals on the second flower, then I will work on their cores.  After that I will probably touch up details on the already painted petals and most likely the core again.  I thought I might finish for tomorrow, but it's my birthday and my mum and I will be going to Huntington Gardens I think, so it's most likely I will finish for next Tuesday...

WIP Marigold Flowers Art Original Painting Work in Progress...

I've done a bit of work on my marigolds flower painting.  I've started on the petals, they are so bright and vibrant!  As I progress on this work in progress, I will block in all of the petals and then I may give them some darker darks and lighter lights later in the wip.  I'm not certain at which point I'll paint the cores, but I think I'd like to get all of the petals of both flowers in this floral piece before I continue on.  Marigolds have so many lovely petals!

Here is the lineart for a Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead big eye gothic maiden.  I sketched her face and then traced three different designs over the sketch, this is the one I've decided to go with.  Today I'm going to work on some color variations on photoshop and hopefully transfer the sketch to panel.    Due to time constraints, I'm going to try to persue the painting with the butterflies perhaps next year.  I'm very excited to be having a friend stay with me who I haven't seen in years soon, and there's just so much to do...

I've started on an original 8"x8" marigold flowers painting.  I've laid in a background, but I plan to do a bit more to it before I continue on to the marigolds.  They are such bright and cheerful flowers...

She is face 18 for 29 faces in September.  The goal is to share 29 faces in the month of September.  

Marigold Flowers Sketch Art + Dragon Website Update...

Here is a sketch of some marigolds on canvas.  I started sketching for this in October and then put it aside for a while.  At this point I only have the sketch on canvas.  I've also painted the edges, I tend to do that before I start painting on the canvas as I don't want to risk getting the edge paint on to the painting itself.  As you can see, I tend to get paint over the edges, but I can fix that when I paint the background...

Marigolds Flower Sketch Art & Big Eye Gothic Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead Femme Website Update...

Here are a couple of sketches of some marigold flowers for a painting I'd like to do.  I'm thinking the top marigolds would have a horizontal composition or the bottom marigolds would have either a vertical composition or perhaps square.  I haven't decided yet which to do or which way to go...
