8"x10" Open Edition print here

ACEO 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition LE 1st of 25 here

I am listing "Flowers in Her Hair," an original fantasy painting.  This gothic Latina fairy angel has big brown eyes, blue green teal hair, and wings inspired by a Painted Lady butterfly.  The original is painted on a wooden plank.  The art has a soft lowbrow surreal feel...

I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with a theme of fairy angels...

Most of my art is also available on my website at www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to put some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions...  I have been updating my website.  It's an ongoing project, but there is now an excellent selection of art available!

Here is a sketch of a bear cub.  It is climbing a tree.  I doubt I'll paint him, my reference image was super tiny, but I did enjoy sketching him.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in March.  This is day 1.

This is a rough sketch.

29 Faces in February, Face 29 Big Eye Gothic Angel Fairy Sketch Art...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  I have a vintage hat with a webbing like the one she is wearing.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

She is face 29 for 29 faces in February.  The goal is to share 29 faces in the month of February.  To learn more about the challenge, please click here.  I found this challenge very inspiring, there's something about doing at least one sketch a day that's very satisfying.  The quality of my sketches from day to day varies, but I think the daily practice is very good.  I'm considering continuing to sketch daily in March, although they won't be all faces...

WIP Gothic Latina Fairy Angel Big Eye Art Original Painting Work in Progress + 29 Faces, Face Sketch Art 26...

In this original acrylic work in progress gothic Latina fairy angel painting, I've blocked in her hair and worked with some shading...  I still need to do a bit more shading on her top, cast a shadow on to her wings, refine her hair, and paint the flowers in this wip.  I also realized that her wings are uneven, so I need to try and correct that.  I did the rough sketch for this during the 29 sketches challenge last September.  I don't get to paint all of the faces inspired by the challenge, but I do get to do some of them...  I was hoping to finish her for last Tuesday, but there's still quite a bit more to do, I am however optimistic for the Tuesday coming up...

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at www.lisarusso.com if you'd like.

My Photograph of Pink and White Spring Flowers at Descanso Gardens + 29 Faces Sketch Art, Face 17...

I took this photograph of these pink and white flowers at Descanso Gardens a while back.  They were blooming in spring near the tulips, I'm not sure what they are called, I do think it is almost time for them to bloom here again...  They have such a delicate and yet profuse beauty.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at www.lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed steampunk maiden.  She has goggles atop her head and her wings are mechanical.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.  I didn't manage to finish my fairy for yesterday, but I am more hopeful that I will be able to do so for next Tuesday.  I'd like to paint faster, but I think it's important to give a painting all of the time that it needs...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  This is my second sketch based on a sketch from a while ago.  She has a bit of a femme fatale feel.  If I were to paint her, I think she would be a mermaid although she could also be a fairy angel or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

29 Faces in February, Face 22 Big Eye Angel Fairy Sketch Art...

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a sweet quality.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I think I might like to paint her at some point, but I'm not entirely sure what direction I'd like to go with with her.  I'm not very sure if I'll finish my gothic Latina fairy angel for tomorrow, I'm hopeful, but not certain.  I am making progress on her though...
