WIP Big Eye Gothic Maiden Art Original Painting Work in Progress + November Sketches, Sketch 30, Butterfly...

In this original work in progress WIP big eye gothic maiden painting I'm still working on the background.  I liked the lighter purple but it was too light for what I have in mind, this purple is perhaps a smidge too dark, it's a lot closer to what I want though.  I haven't decided yet if I'm going to try for a smidge lighter or not though.  Sometimes it takes me a while to reach my objectives or decide to try something different from my original intentions.  There won't be much of the background showing in the framed version at all since it will have an oval frame, but I still want it to look right for potential prints.  I found a way to make the line art a little darker so that it's easier to see where I'm going with her...

This big eyed gothic beauty is on an 8"x10" panel in acrylics and has a lovely oval frame waiting for her.

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

====================================================

Here is a sketch of a butterfly.  He is ready to dine on flower nectar.  Butterflies have such elegance in their wings.  I'm unsure if I'll paint him or not, but I did enjoy sketching him.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in November.  This is day 30.

This is a rough sketch.

It's Christmas purple! Nice start to this larger WIP and a pretty butterfly sketch too.

Both these sketches show signs of the new elegance

Lovely butterfly, Lisa. And I wouldn't worry about your big eye gothic maiden background just yet. One thing I've taught myself is to never judge my art until it's completed. I've tossed out too many and they probably would have been gems had I finished them! :)

Thanks so very much for your kind words Jan, Christine, Valerie-Jael, Lux, Martin, Alexandra, and LCKK!

I'm not giving up on her Alexandra, I just may make another change to the background. I appreciate your encouragement very much!
