My Photograph of a Tulip Flower at Descanso Gardens + February Sketches Art, Day 15 Sketch, Goddess, 29 Faces...

The tulips are coming, the tulips are coming!  I took this photograph of this tulip during a past year at Descanso Gardens.  They are not yet in bloom there, but they are coming.  Every year they have a slightly different mix of what tulips they plant, some are the same and some are different, but it's a joy to see them.  This is one of my favorite tulips that they've had...  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

==============================================

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  I think she comes from the land of the ice and snow.  I think she is most likely a goddess, although she could also be a fairy angel or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in February.  This is day 15.

This is a rough sketch.  I am also participating in the February 29 Faces Challenge, this is face 15.

we forgot to plant our tulip bulbs, but if the wether stops being so bad we might plant them and they might come up really late in the year for tulips lol

Beautiful flower.
The maiden is a riddle. Is she happy or sad?

Those tulips look very special, I love seeing the gorgeous ones they plant here, too. Great sketch. Hugs, Valerie

Thanks very much Christine, Jennifer, Martin, and Valerie-Jael. Martin, I do agree, it is a bit hard to read the expression of this maiden, she's playing it close to the chest... I hope you do get to plant your tulips Jennifer!
