WIP Big Eye Ghost Art Original Painting Work in Progress + October Sketches, Sketch 19 & 20/ Big Eye Mermaid & Angel...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a big eye ghost.  I've started on her shading, but I still have a ways to go.  I've started on her chemise, but it will also need shading at some point.  I also seem to have given her more of a front facing nose than a three quarter nose so I'll have to adjust her nose before I go much further...  She is inspired by an African American folktale.

This big eyed beauty is on a 16"x20" canvas in acrylics.

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

I'm joining in this week with Paint Party Friday.  To see more participants, please visit:

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  Her hair flows across her face...  I think she is most likely a mermaid, although she could also be a fairy angel or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in October. This is from day 19.

I would like to try to reach a goal of 100 faces sketched on consecutive days, I started this effort on September 1st, 2017...  This is face 49.

This is a rough sketch.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has an antique key around her neck, I wonder what it opens...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

They are already mesmerizing -the eyes so expressive. Happy PPF!

easy enough to fix her nose, or you could just do a picasso and leave it :)

Thanks so much Victoria, Giggles, Shannon, Stacy, and shedreamsofthesea! I can't quite recall the name of the folktale offhand, something to do with moonrise, but I'll look it up and post it with my next update...

It looks wonderful how your WIP turns out. I like it so much how you colored her face and the gothic maidens look great as well.
