Original Big Eye Harriet Tubman Black History Month Framed Painting!

"Guiding Star" is my big eye painting of Harriet Tubman.  She has large, expressive eyes and a determined expression. I wanted to give tribute to her legacy in this painting.

In honor of Black History Month, this traditional art is painted in duo oils on a wood panel that measures approximately 8"x10" and is in an antique oval frame that measures approximately 12"x14.5"

If you are interested in the original please contact me.  If you're interested in prints and aren't in a huge hurry, they are available if you'd like, please let me know.

Original Pencil Lineart for Big Eye Harriet Tubman Black History Month Painting on Wood Panel

If you look closely, you may see my pencil lineart for my big eye Harriet Tubman painting that I've transferred to the wood panel.  Alex sanded the panel for me for a more smooth surface to paint on, but there are still some rough areas.

The traditional art is on a wood panel that measures approximately 8"x10" and will be painted in duo oils and framed in an antique oval frame in honor of Black History Month.

A Bit of Cheer! Happy Black History Month from this Mermaid with Clownfish Friends Painting...

It is dark and stormy and cold, at least for us, and colder still across the land.  To contrast with the weather, I've decided to share one of my brighter, cheerier original paintings.  This mermaid has three clownfish friends.  She and her fish friends aren't historical, but they do wish you a happy Black History Month...

Happy Black History Month! Big Eye Original Garden Guardian Fairy Painting...

This big eyed garden guardian and I would like to wish you a Happy Black History Month.

It's the tail end of Black History Month, but I'd still like to share this lovely maiden with you. I believe in the beauty of all skin tones.  I painted her for the Diversity and Inclusion: The Influence of African-American Art in Southern California at the Ontario Museum of Art Exhibit.  When I did a little research, I found that it was traditional in Black History to put blue bottles in the garden to protect it.  I decided I wanted to paint one of my garden guardians for the show with a blue orchid as a connection to the protection of the blue bottles.

Original Big Eye Black Ghost Painting! Black History Month Art Prints & ACEO Prints! HELLO KITTY 45th Anniversary Group Show (Closed Show) II

"Moonrise" Original 16"x20" Painting on Canvas here

This week my featured painting is "Moonrise," an original big eye black ghost painting.  I painted it for Diversity and Inclusion: The Influence of African-American Art in Southern California at the Ontario Museum of Art Exhibit.  She was inspired by a folktale.  I loved painting her fluffy hair.  This original painting is available as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The art has a painterly lowbrow surreal feel...

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions...  This month, my theme is some of my lovely dark skinned maidens in honor of Black History Month.  If you would like to take a look; you may see them here.

HELLO KITTY 45th Anniversary Group Show (Closed Show) II
Corey Helford Gallery
JUNE 29 - AUGUST 3, 2019

I love Hello Kitty and I love art, so this show was a perfect storm of love for me!  Some of my favorite artists had works in the show and I was introduced to some new artists as well.  I photographed most of the show, so it will be a while until I've rezised and shared my pictures, but I hope you will enjoy them as they come along.

In some cases I have photos of me with the art as part of my #withtheart series of photographs.  For this show, my wonderful and talented mother made me a solo Hello Kitty crochet doll as well as a hat with multiple figures!  I hope you will enjoy them as well.

This was my first time getting to see an original Olivia De Berardinis painting, I was so thrilled!  Alex introduced me to her art books years ago...
