Happy New Year Wishes from a Garden Guardian Angel Fairy! December Sketches...

I hope this coming year brings you much joy and beauty.  This garden guardian angel fairy and I send Happy New Year wishes from lisarusso.com.

This painting is the last one I will have completed this year, she actually looks a bit different now that I've varnished her, I'll share the final version of her another day; but I liked this version of her with this gold leafing look to usher in the new year!

This big eyed beauty is on a 16"x20" canvas in acrylics.  This piece and "Moonrise" have been accepted by the Ontario Museum of History & Art "Diversity and Inclusion:  The Influence of African American Art in Southern California Exhibit."  I've yet to frame them, but they are both complete!

Here is a sketch of a bearded iris.  These flowers are amongst my favorites...  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in December.  This is from day 29.

This is a rough sketch.

Here is a sketch of a hibiscus.  I see a lot of these flowers and they are wonderful to behold...  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in December.  This is from day 30.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  I love hats and I think she does too...  I think she is most likely a fairy angel, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

My Photograph of a Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis at Huntington Gardens + July Sketches Art, Day 26 Sketch, Big Eye Angel Fairy...

I took this photograph of this peach hibiscus rosa-sinensis at Huntington Gardens.  I love hibiscus flowers and this was the first time I'd noticed one with so many petals.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I love to paint flowers, you may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a garland of flowers and seems to be looking at something with a touch of caring and concern.  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

WIP Big Eye Fairy Angel Water Lily Art Original Painting Work in Progress + March Sketches, Sketch 6, Hibiscus Flower

In this original work in progress WIP big eye maiden painting I have started on the background.  This fairytale angel fairy has water lilies in her hair and is looking upwards.  I am thinking of taking her in a Snow White direction...

This big eyed beauty is on an 8"x10" canvas in acrylics.

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Here is a sketch of a flower.  I believe it's an Australian Native Hibiscus, but I'm not sure...  The petals are a lovely purple and it unfolds like a pinwheel.  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

WIP Angel Fairy Art Original Painting Work in Progress + January Sketches, Sketch 22, Hibiscus Flower...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP big eye gothic maiden painting I've started work on her hair, I still have a ways to go and then I'm considering repainting her eyes...  Usually I post a work in progress on Monday, but I  think  I will be away from my computer for most of tomorrow.  I am excited to share my completed rooster on Tuesday though!

This fairy angel is an 8"x10" acrylic painting.

Here is a sketch of a hibiscus.  These flowers are so vibrant and lovely, I think to see them with only pencil is a different way of experiencing them...  I'm unsure if I'll paint it or not, but I did enjoy sketching it.

WIP AngelFish Art Original Painting Work in Progress + November Sketches, Sketch 9, 10, 11, Hibiscus Flower + Big Eye Maidens...

Edit: The Day of the dead meets Halloween 2016 Closing  https://www.facebook.com/events/1476496125697843/
Sunday 6-9 at the Neutra Gallery & Museum, more details above...

***I am pleased to report that my left hand is healing.  I'm still trying to take it slow for a while longer.  Hand permitting, I will most likely post again on Sunday.***

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of an angelfish, I've made a little bit of progress.  I've paid a bit more attention to the background and started on the fish himself.  Usually we don't think about it much, but our non dominant hand does quite a lot.  Mine is healing, slowly, but it is healing...  This is a preliminary painting for a larger piece that I am doing that will involve this fish as well as additional fishie friends for a big eye mermaid...

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!  You also may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

I'm joining in this week with Paint Party Friday.  To see more participants, please visit:
