November Sketches, Sketch Art 12 + 13, Anemone Flowers + Seashells...

***I am pleased to report that my left hand continues to heal.  Hand permitting, I will most likely post again on Tuesday, after that I hope to resume my usual posting schedule.***

Here is a sketch of anemone flowers.  It is in my tiny sketchbook that measures 3.5x5.5 inches.   I'm unsure if I'll paint them or not, but I did enjoy sketching them.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in November.  This is from day 12.

This is a sketch in colored pencils.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.  I'm not really a colored pencil artist but I am exploring something new for the sketchbook, I was going to try inking in October, but the pages of this Moleskine sketchbook are far too thin for that.  I will be juxtaposing my usual rough sketches with the colored pencil sketches at varying intervals.  I tend to sketch very lightly, so these and my usual pencil ones are darkened a bit in photoshop for online viewing.

Inktober October 2, Sketches Daily, Seashell Sketch Art...

It looks like Alex and I will be attending the tail end of the closing party for the Coaster Show today.  Additional details for the show are here.

Here is a sketch of some seashells.  They are in a small sketchbook that measures 3.5x5.5 inches.  The sketchbook I was using bled through and the sketches are visible behind and in front. I'm trying to uses this sketchbook for a different challenge, but I don't think the inking is working for me at this time...  I think I'm going to start with colored pencil sketches, but I'm going to start from scratch when an identical sketchbook arrives and just use this one for practice until then.  I'm unsure if I'll paint the shells or not, but I did enjoy sketching them.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in October.  This is day 2.   I was attempting Inktober, but I think that my second sketch will be my last inked sketch, perhaps next year I'll be able to do this challenge. The goal is to share 31 inked sketches in the month of October. To learn more about the challenge, please click here.

This is a rough sketch that has been inked.  You may see some of my finished paintings at lisarusso.com if you'd like.

Inktober, October 1, Sketches Daily, Seashell Sketch Art...

Here is a sketch of some seashells.  They are in a small sketchbook that measures 3.5x5.5 inches.  I am attempting to ink my sketches, my hands tend to shake a bit when I ink, so while this may be good practice, I'm not sure how well it will go.  Also the paper in the book is thin and some of the color from one shell transfered to the next page, I'll probably sketch a couple more shells tomorrow and put a paper behind the page when I ink...  I'm unsure if I'll paint them or not, but I did enjoy sketching them.

Some Seashell Sketches For a Mermaid's Hair...

These seashells are for a mermaid's hair.  I'm not sure which ones I'll use and in which configuration.  I'm still working on the final sketch of the mermaid at this point, but thanks to the wonders of photoshop, I can try different variations on her once I have her finished.

I apologize for my infrequent posting these days, I'm a bit off of my schedule, but hopefully after this week things will start to resume to normal...
