Completed! Original Peacock Bird Painting...

"Argus" 11x14 inches, acrylics on canvas

I started this painting as a prequel for one with the Greek goddess Hera that will included a peacock companion.  I'm still in the sketching stages for that one though...  In person, this original painting has some iridescent paints that shimmer in the eyes of the feathers.

This painting is available for adoption, if you're interested please feel free to contact me with an offer.  If you're more interested in a print and you'd like to be put on the list to be informed when I'm able to release prints, please let me know.

WIP Work in Progress! Original Big Eye Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead Fantasy Painting...

Feathers, feathers, and more feathers...  I'm starting to block in the feathers for this 16"x20" duo oils Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead painting.  The lineart is difficult to see in the photograph, but I can assure you, there are more feathers, many more feathers...

"Xochitl Study" for the Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead Mujeres Valientes Show

This is my "Xochitl Study" that I did for the Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead Mujeres Valientes Exhibit at the Ontario Museum of History & Art in 2021.  It was a year when I didn't feel I'd be able to finish the full sized painting that I started for them so I submitted this colored pencil drawing on toned paper.  I bring it up this year because my schedule was too complicated to even ask them to consider me this year for their show, but I'm hoping to complete this year the painting that this drawing was a study for that I started for them so many years ago...

I'll try to post a wip work in progress image of my Xochitl painting in the not too distant future.  Please look forward to it.

WIP Work in Progress! Original Big Eye Scarecrow Fantasy Painting...

This is a WIP work in progress image of my big eye scarecrow fantasy girl.  The original painting is 11"x14" duo oils on wood.  I've worked on her eyes and face a bit since you've seen her last.  I still need to do more with her hat, hair, nose, lips, and eye details.  This is my first time painting heterochromia eyes...

WIP Work in Progress! Original Big Eye Rococo Maiden with Lovebirds Fantasy Painting...

This is a WIP work in progress image of my big eye rococo maiden with lovebirds in her hair.  The original painting is duo oils on a wood panel cut to fit a vintage frame.  I've only worked on the background at this point, a soft yellow that lets the panel shine through a bit.  It's difficult to make out the details at this point, maybe next time I paint on one of these wood panels that Alex's father cut to fit vintage frames for me, I will gesso the panel first instead of just using GAC-100 to seal in the sketch, but I'll see how it goes with this painting...

Completed! Original Chibi Lovebird Bird on Sakura Cherry Blossom Branch Painting...

"Lovers Bough" 5x7 inches, duo oils on canvas (SOLD)

I have finally completed Lovers Bough, the original little bird has been adopted (thank you), but I have had some interest expressed in prints.  If you'd like to be put on the list to be informed when I'm able to release prints, please contact me.  I'm debating now on the subject of my next small painting and also planning on moving forward on the larger piece Lovers Bough was a prequel for...

WIP Work in Progress! Original Big Eye Scarecrow Fantasy Painting...

This is a WIP work in progress image of my big eye scarecrow fantasy girl.  The original painting is 11"x14" duo oils on wood.  I've worked on her hair and top since you've seen her last.  I haven't done much with her eyes yet, I think they will be next...

WIP Work in Progress! Original Big Eye Scarecrow Fantasy Painting...

I didn't manage to finish this painting for Halloween last year, so I'm hopefully giving myself enough of a head start to do so for this year.  This is a WIP work in progress image of my big eye scarecrow fantasy girl.  The original painting is 11"x14" duo oils on wood.  I've done the underpainting; although in my enthusiasm I lifted up some of the shadow from her right cheek.  It's a good indication that I need to let things dry when that starts happening...  This is a painting with many painting sessions ahead of it before completion, painting in layers is fun and rewarding, but requires patience.

WIP Work in Progress! Original Chibi Lovebird Bird on Sakura Cherry Blossom Branch Painting...

It has been a while since I've posted a wip of any of my personal works.  It's been a while since I've worked on them...  Facebook shamed me by posting a memory post of this, I hadn't realized how long I'd left it by the wayside.  Here is a WIP work in progress image of this original chibi lovebird bird on a sakura cherry blossom branch painting.  It is 5"7" on canvas and is being painted in duo oils.   Here I've painted the base of the flowers, I still need to paint their cores and put some final details on the little bird.

CatCon! CatCon! Catcon! Traditional Fine Artists Jasmine Becket Griffith & Michael Banks Sugar Fueled Collaboration

This weekend I went to Catcon for the second year in a row to see traditional fine artists Jasmine Becket Griffith and Michael Banks of Sugar Fueled's art.  They did a new collaboration art piece that's simply gorgeous and a pin that I love as well.

Jasmine was an absolute doll and signed so many things for my mother and I, she was amazing and so incredibly sweet.  I loved her cat apron, I think I may have one very much like it; good thing I went with tokidoki for the day!

Artist David Van Gough didn't have art there but arrived with Jasmine and Lani.  I didn't catch Michael Bank's wife's name, but she was so incredibly sweet as well.  I didn't explore much of CatCon but there was cuteness everywhere!  One of my favorites was the giant kawaii white kitty.

All in all an excellent adventure!  I hope you will enjoy some of my photos from the event.
