Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Magical Thinking Part I
Corey Helford Gallery

This show is open until September 1st 2018.  Most of the pieces are sold, but please send inquiries for available work to sherri@coreyhelfordgallery.com.

Magical Thinking is Jasmine Becket-Griffith's solo show at the Corey Helford Gallery.  She is one of my favorite artists.  Her surrealist big eyed beauties are a source of inspiration to me.  I feel very fortunate when I get to see some of her works in person.

One of her themes for this show was Blue Willow Porcelain, they are the ones I am sharing in this grouping.  I love the sculpture she designed!  She did a number of small studies, some of which correspond to larger pieces, that I found very compelling.  One of my favorite pieces from the show is "Blue Willow Skull;" it's the last one I shared in this group.

This is Part I of the photos that I'm sharing from this show.  I'm not sure how many parts there will be as I'm still going through the images, but I'll link them together here as I go.

Here are some links for Jasmine Becket-Griffith

This show is CLOSED, please send inquiries for additional available work to info@kpprojects.net.

When I went to the GILDED HORIZON exhibit at KP Projects (Merry Karnowsky Gallery), I saw the works of Jean-Pierre Arboleda for the first time.  I was moved by his love of animals and surrealist attention to detail.  My photos of the paintings of his that I saw at the show follow.

I will link updates here as I share the works of other artists from this show, including those of one of my favorite artists, Audrey Kawasaki.

WIP Big Eye Little Red Riding Hood Art Original Painting Work in Progress + Sketches of Big Eye Angels Fairies Maidens & Flowers / August 1-3 / Art Sketch Daily...

For the month of August I will be offering a free random rough sketch included with any original art order on my website lisarusso.com!  I plan on making some adjustments in pricing and content on my website, so now is an excellent time to take a look...

In this original acrylic work in progress WIP painting of a big eye little red riding hood I am working on the background.  I've done a couple of layers and I'll likely be doing a glazing layer before I move forward.  Fairytales hold a strong allure for me.  In this piece, I'm focused on her face.  I'm planning on trying to do an underpainting on her face and hood before I begin in color.

This big eyed beauty is on an 8"x10" panel in acrylics...

This is a work in progress, but I also usually post at least one finished piece on Tuesdays if you'd like to come to visit!
