This week my featured painting is "Owlie," an original Athene noctua owl painting.  Owlie is painted directly on a wood plank and would be great for fall or any time of the year!  There is hanging hardware on the back of the original so it is ready to hang.  This original bird painting is available on my website as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel...

WIP Chocolate Labrador Lab Puppy Dog Art Original Painting Work in Progress...

In this original wip work in progress acrylic painting of a chocolate labrador, I have finished the background.  Next will come an underpainting of the dog himself.  The panel that I'm painting on is 8"x10" although the original is spoken for.  I will release prints at some point in the future.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She seems to be dreaming sweetly...  I think she is most likely an angel fairy, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.  

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in November. This from day 20. 

I would like to try to reach a goal of 100 faces sketched on consecutive days, I started this effort on September 1st, 2017...  This is face 81. 

This is a rough sketch. 

Here is a sketch of a big eyed gothic maiden.  She has a shy yet sweet gaze...  I think she is most likely a fairy angel, although she could also be a mermaid or a goddess.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

My Photograph of Tiny Wildflower Flowers at Descanso Gardens...

I took this macro photograph of these wildflowers at Descanso Gardens during my most recent visit.  They were extremely tiny and oh so delicate.  I can see a simpler version of them as a garland for one of my fairy angel paintings.  I don't know what these flowers are called, but they were so lovely.  They're replanting the flower beds though, so I'm not sure if they're still there.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I took this photograph of these yellow peach Jimson Weed flowers at Descanso Gardens during my most recent visit.  The gardens are full of beautiful flowers this fall.  This flower goes by Datura and Angel's Trumpet and many more names!  My grandparents used to have this flower in their garden, but their flowers were white.  I hadn't seen Jimsomweed before in this color.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

I took this photograph during my most recent visit to Descanso Gardens.  This sweet orange flower is blooming amidst a green plant and some fall leaves.  Not all of our trees shed for fall here in Southern California, but the ones that do are so lovely.  I hope that you will enjoy this photo!

An Original Painting of a Halloween Fairy Goddess, a Barn Owl Art Print, and More Prints!

My featured print auction for the week is on ebay here.  It is titled "Little Owl" and is of a young barn owl.  I also have additional giclee art prints here.

They're all based on my original paintings and are starting today and ending next Tuesday.  This week I've selected angel fairies, flowers, seascapes, and Little Bo Peep...

Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to offer some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions...  The prints have a start price that's approximately 20% off and the original art has a start price that's approximately 25% off!

Actually the prints are at a lower price point this week, I may also lower the prices on my website so that they're only 20% more than the start price that they are on ebay, but I haven't had a chance to do that yet.

I'm listing this original painting here and the print of it is here.  The title is "Hallofaerie" and it is of a fairy goddess by her Halloween pumpkin...

I haven't painted a lot of fall art, this one and "Little Owl" are the only ones thus far.  They're both up, but I've also listed additional prints.  If I have time, I'm going to try to paint another owl for the upcoming Nibblefest, but I'm not 100% sure on that at this point.
