It has been a while since I've posted a wip of any of my personal works.  It's been a while since I've worked on them...  Facebook shamed me by posting a memory post of this, I hadn't realized how long I'd left it by the wayside.  Here is a WIP work in progress image of this original chibi lovebird bird on a sakura cherry blossom branch painting.  It is 5"7" on canvas and is being painted in duo oils.   Here I've painted the base of the flowers, I still need to paint their cores and put some final details on the little bird.

Behind, but not forgotten!  Here is a WIP work in progress image of this original chibi lovebird bird on a sakura cherry blossom branch painting.  It is 5"7" on canvas and is being painted in duo oils.  It's been a while since I've made any progress on this painting, but it is not forgotten.  I need to work on the flowers and some details on the bird still, but it is coming along...

Here is a WIP work in progress image of this original chibi lovebird bird on a sakura cherry blossom branch painting.  It is 5"7" on canvas and is being painted in duo oils.  This is the winning bird.  I'd planned to do a more straightforward study of just the bird; but when I took some advice and made the form smaller and paid attention to some details, I decided that while still keeping it a study, to incorporate some sakura cherry blossoms and make it more of a stand alone painting.   

Please Help Me Decide Between Which One of Two Chibi Baby Lovebirds to Paint...

 Edit:  And the winner by one vote across my social media sites is baby bird #1...  It was very close and I had some thoughtful write in votes for both birds, but I put it to a vote due to supply issues.  Thanks so much for the help!

I am doing a small study of one of these two chibi baby lovebirds, but I can not decide which one...  I will be painting both birds in a larger painting in the hair of a Rococo maiden, but only one as a study.  Please vote between bird 1 on the left and bird 2 on the right.

The vote will end on  Friday March 3rd at 2pm pst.  I will tally the votes between my social media accounts and begin painting the winning bird!

This week my featured painting is "Owlie," an original Athene noctua owl painting.  Owlie is painted directly on a wood plank and would be great for fall or any time of the year!  There is hanging hardware on the back of the original so it is ready to hang.  This original bird painting is available on my website as are art prints and LE ACEO prints!  The art has a painterly realist impressionist feel... 

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions...  This month, my theme is mermaids; you may see them here.

WIP Chocolate Labrador Lab Puppy Dog Art Original Painting Work in Progress...

In this original wip work in progress acrylic painting of a chocolate labrador, I have finished the background.  Next will come an underpainting of the dog himself.  The panel that I'm painting on is 8"x10" although the original is spoken for.  I will release prints at some point in the future.

This is a bit of a large group, sometimes I fall behind in scanning them in, but so far I have been consistent in sketching daily.  It's something I really enjoy, these are just rough sketches, but I hope that you will enjoy them.
